We need Countywide voting on Election Day - the last day to vote

We need Countywide voting on Election Day - the last day to vote. Switching up the rules on the last day to vote is not just confusing, its voter suppression. I am glad to have had the opportunity to talk to our County Commissioners last Tuesday, August 11th. Thanks to all who showed up - we had a really good turnout - more than 50 people standing up with our four public speakers in our Commissioners Court 💪💙🗳️

Hello. Thank you for your time, uh County Commissioners, and thank you for the work that you do. Um our previous speaker did not mince words, but uh you know I I want to be a little bit more soft and I want to rehash the situation that we're in right now. We have countywide voting during their early voting period, usually

two weeks, but on the last day to vote, on the last day to vote, we switch up the rules. On the last day to vote, you have to go to your one registered voting location. That's a different situation. People are used to the aspect where they can vote anywhere in the county during the early voting period, yet we switch up the rules on the last day to

vote. That's very, very confusing. Um I just want to say that there are multiple other counties. Our neighbors in Collin County, for example, in uh Dallas County, they have countywide voting on election day, but we don't. Denton County is not the pioneer in this situation.

We are the outlier. Um this is a particularly a problem in Frisco, Texas, for example. The city of Frisco is divided, uh the west side is in Denton County, the east side is in Collin County. And we see a lot of people in Frisco who accidentally jump over the county line, and the election workers

in Collin County don't necessarily know the correct location for uh someone to be redirected to in Denton County. So when a Denton County resident accidentally goes to a Collin County voting location, they get redirected back into Denton County as of course they must. They get redirected a second time if they show up to the wrong voting location. So it's a huge frustration and a huge problem, particularly

in Frisco, and I'm sure all the other cities uh that are divided between two different counties, right? So I I would hope that we just like Collin County, like our neighbor, would elect uh would uh opt into countywide voting on election day. We already have countywide voting for the two whole weeks, the two whole weeks of early voting. Why can't we do it one more day?

Just one more day. The last day to vote. If you look at the the total number of people who vote during the early voting period, the total, you will see almost the equal number of people vote on last day to vote. Most people, unfortunately, wait till the last day to vote. We see the highest turnout in voting is the last

day to vote, the election day. That day is the most important day since that's the highest turnout. We need to have countywide voting on the last day to vote. I just want this to be fair, guys. I just want this to be fair. Thank you for your time.

Thank you, Mr. Frey.
