Good evening, Mayor, Council members, and my fellow neighbors. My name's Brittany Black, and thank you everyone for coming here tonight, because it shows how much we deeply care about our community. This become this has become such an emotional issue, and now I understand why people have some really strong feelings, and that's exactly why these decisions should be based in facts, the law, and a thorough process, not emotion or
politics. At its core, tonight's decision is about planning and zoning. The city council's responsibility is to determine whether this application satisfy satisfies the city's ordinances and development standards. I love Texas, I love this community, and I've chosen this as my home where I hope to raise my future family. I grew up in the church, I went to a
Christian school, and my faith taught me that the importance of integrity, accountability, and respect for your neighbors. And those values are why I believe so strongly in the rule of law. I believe deeply in our constitution and the freedom it protects. My brother is currently serving, and like so many other service members, he has chosen to put service above himself
to our nation and protect our freedoms and our constitutional principles. That reminds me that with those freedoms comes a responsibility to uphold the rule of law and ensure our government remains accountable to the people it serves. At the end of the day, government exists to serve the people, not the other way around. We need leaders who are accountable to the communities they
represent by listening, being transparent, following the law, and making decisions grounded in facts and for the public interest for us all. My expectation is simple: do the due diligence, hear every resident that wants to speak on this, and make a decision based on those facts. That's how we build trust in government, protect our freedoms, and strengthen our community.
Thank you, Mr. Black.
